Our Horizontal Pharma Peeler is a batch type automatic / semi automatic filtering centrifuge. The axis of rotation of the basket in this centrifuge is horizontal. It is ideally suited for a clean room installation - “through the wall” using a flexible membrane as required in pharmaceutical applications. We can construct the centrifuge in Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Fluro Polymer Lining/Coating (Halar-ECTFE, PFA, etc.), can also be provided on the exterior body for protection against spillage and atmospheric corrosion.
 
 
Fully opening outer body giving full access to basket (inside, outside and rear), peeler knife, and other inner parts for cleaning, inspection, validation and swab tests.

The combination of filtration and drying operation: As both the operations are performed in separate equipment (Centrifuge and Dryer respectively) ; the system has a distinct advantage over filtration + Drying Systems.
 
 
Best for a “through the wall” installation – with complete separation of the process area (feed, wash, solid discharge) from service area (liquid outlet, motor, hydraulic power pack, bearing housing).The entire bearing housing is removable from the service area.

Designed for ease of cleaning and validation with full access to all process wetted parts, assured by a fully open able casing.
 
 
An effective residual heel removing system ensures almost complete removal of the cake after each centrifuging lots. Residual Heel removal for optimum solids recovery.
 
The CIP cleaning system ensures effective and faster cleaning of centrifuge internal for product.
 
Entire operation in a Nitrogen blanketed atmosphere.
Self draining design for minimum retention of liquid.
High centrifugal force for fast filtration and low residual moisture.
Mounting on Anti vibration mounts – eliminating a heavy foundation. The centrifuge is suspended over four points on vibration isolating spring inputs. The vibration isolating mounts are of maintenance free design, designed with springs and filled with viscous fluid to arrest vibrations.
 
 
 
Cycle of Operation

Slurry is fed into the rotating basket using a feed pipe.
Washing (using a wash pipe) and dewatering cycles are carried out. Liquid is discharged through a sloping discharge pipe at the lowest point.

Solids are peeled using a full-length knife and are discharged by gravity from a nozzle on the front of outer body. The centrifuge is designed to perform feeding, washing and peeling at maximum speed depending on material characteristics.

Optional Features

Hydraulic clamping ring for outer body As an Option the outer body  can be held to the frame with single clamping ring avoiding individual clamps which can save the precious time of batch change over.
 
Cake monitoring system-The thickness of the cake actually built up in the Centrifuge is monitored continuously with the help of this system. This can be monitor by one of the alternative. Mechanical Feeler Type, Electronic Capacitance, Ultrasonic Non contact Type.
 
Vibration monitoring system.
A sensor measures the vibration of the centrifuge and trips it when these are above the safe limit. This can be monitor by one of the alternative. A switch, Analogue single etc.
 
Complete automation using PLC.
A Programmable Logic Control (PLC) is used to automate the centrifuge operation along with various processes.
Easy access to basket, bottom trough and inside parts for effective cleaning, inspection and validation.
Unobstructed approach to the basket allows speedy and effortless changing of Filter media (applicable only for bottom discharge machines).
Outer case can be opened without disconnecting process connections.
Outer case opens sufficiently to allow vertical lift of basket and bearing housing. This greatly reduces the effort and time required for maintenance.
